Greatest @Green_Footballs Tweet of 2011

[This post by the legendary ChenZhen has been sitting silent in the bottom of the DoD drafts folder for years for unknown reasons, but since it’s the 6th Anniversary of Charles Johnson’s Johnson TwitterFail, we might as well turn it loose. –Briareus]

In light of Johnson’s recent, um, friskiness in the Twitterverse, and the fact that we kinda skipped the DoD awards ceremony this year, I’m going to go ahead and declare what would have been the winner anyway.

To be fair (not that we need to be), the tweet came during Johnson’s hilariously desperate attempts to defend and excuse Rep. Weiner while he was dealing with the bombshell that Breitbart delivered (in retrospect, perhaps we can assume that the fact that it was AB played a factor in the intensity of CJ’s efforts).

Frustrated, and convinced that he was fighting the good fight, he even added the trending hashtag to ensure that as many netizens outside his swamp saw this as possible:

He’s Back in the Big Time, Folks

After so many years of being ignored, the Culver City Blimp is a splash at Twitter.   Of course, it’s not the same as getting a daily shame post at Twitchy, but with the guilty plea of America’s second-favorite pervert (after all, who can to BJ and the Blue Dress?), Alex Griswold has resurrected one of our Favorite Fatman’s classic got-it-wrong posts from his glorious days of yesteryear.

If you want to see Alex’s tweet and the Chevy’s-worthy fajita’ing of the man who blocks everyone that can expose him, click here:   https://twitter.com/HashtagGriswold/status/865615146550538241

One can only imagine Chubby Cheeks went berserk with the Google ping.  Notice also his slathering minions came nowhere near this tweet to defend him.

Charlie Breitbart

Did Charles Johnson Help Save a Marriage?

The answer is NO.

Charles Johnson never saved anything, including his credibility, self-respect and his own blog. Almost six years ago he beclowned himself in defense of Rep. Anthony Weiner, and we all know how that turned out.

Recent reports suggest that Weiner‘s proxy wife Huma Abedinis working hard” to get them back together, now that the political heat is off. I suspect that her husband of convenience is doing the *ahem* same.

Meanwhile, Charles’ original Tweet is still functioning, unlike his neocortex.

Yeah, that classic deserves many more retweets than it’s received. Now about that dated avatar, Charles…

NAZIS! [Updated]

Hoft Tea Party 1

Only behind the fevered forehead of Charles Johnson (nestled in the damp darkness somewhere between his blank black bead-button eyes and his Magical Jazzy Ponytail scrunchie) could this photo be construed as a Pro Nazi Rally, but that’s precisely what he claimed while trying to smear Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit.  What exactly is Hoft guilty of? Pulling a Breitbart.

Hoft responded to false accusations by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) that Tea Partiers are a bunch of neo-nazis by offering a reward for proof. Jazzy went scooters.

Hoft Tea Party 2

Okay. So radical grampas and grammas and mommies and daddies are neonazis for wanting to prevent the IRS from becoming a US version of Germany’s SS.  Got it.  So what was Hoft’s “Monumental Fail” that Mr.#Rumpswab refers to? An honest clarification of obvious intent, caught by a Wonkette reader. Original version:
Hoft Wonkette 1
Revised version:
Hoft Wonkette 2

Hunh. That’s a “Monumental Fail” according to someone who is notorious for editing and deleting his own words and those of other years after they were posted on LGF,  who claimed he had nothing to do with nicknaming Rachel Corrie “St. Pancake”, who couldn’t identify the State Flags of either Tennessee or Ohio, who can’t tell the difference between a menu board and a laptop, who lied about Brevik’s Manifesto, who honestly claimed Anthony Weiner’s PeniePix as his own, who claimed George Zimmerman wasn’t injured by Trayvon Martin, who supports planting racist comments on rival blogs, who doesn’t know the definition of the word “bogus” or how to pronounce the word “milieu” and who’s been reduced to licking the fetid rump-pus-infections of a blogger known as Wonkette for liberal street cred.

Chuck, you’re a mess.

Update:  The inane attack on Hoft continues. Here’s the pertinent part of the DSCC Request For Donations:

DSCC Tea Party Nazis 2

The unspoken insinuation is undeniably clear:
The Tea Party is a radical group comprised of neo-nazis.

Jim Hoft’s offer of a reward was poorly worded, but his intent was also undeniably clear:
Prove that the Tea Party supports National Socialism or STFU.

Tell Me Again That LGF Doesn’t Plant Racist Comments

I AM LITTLE GREEN FOOTBALLS

Seems like a lizard or two decided to dump a steaming pile of racist garbage on Ace Of Spades’ Overnight Thread late Saturday night, and it smells A LOT like Killgore Trout. As reported by kbdabear here on Diary of Daedalus:

November 18, 2012 at 2:36 am | #2
The Hostess shutdown must have really gotten to Chuckles the Clown. He sent Killgore and another troll over to tonight’s (11/17) ONT at Ace of Spades with the name of “lightworker” who pretended to be a stormfront type and “meese” who came along to pretend to be outraged that AoSHQ was a welcome place for racists. Caught him and his partner in the act.
Then Pakimon observed:
November 18, 2012 at 6:52 pm | #57
I figure if Killgore wasn’t both of them, then I’d bet Obdicut was the concern troll.
“How could you allow this?!”
“Why are you picking on me?!”
“Why aren’t you distraught and offended?!”
“Are you all racists because those posts weren’t deleted immediately even though it’s late at night?!”
Classic Obdicunt.

It’s not like this hasn’t happened before, and just like with Killgore’s Midnight Run on Hot Air, the commenters at AoSHQ promptly told both of the Mobys to fuckoff. The telling point was when Moby No.2 “meese” spelled Killgore’s nic correctly. Busted.

The fun starts here.

Oh, and by the way, Charles, is this little “Make-pretend-I-got-a-biggie-by-holding-a-BJ-Barbie-Doll-in-my-shorts” image still yours? Anthony needs your email so he can return it. It’s only slightly soiled.

PART 5 – THE LIBERAL TURNAROUND

Up until the election of Barrack Obama in 2008, LGF could still be seen as essentially a conservative blog. Indeed, in blog awards voting, LGF was consistently listed as “conservative” and Johnson voiced no qualms about the distinction.

But a change was in the wind, and in 2008 Johnson became obsessed with religion and “creationism” in particular. At the same time, his posts took a decidedly “anti-Christian” tone. The same fervor with which Johnson once exposed Islamofascism around the globe, he became intent on uncovering the evil ensconced in the Christian belief that God created the heavens and earth, while ignoring the fact that other major religions held similar belief systems.

Johnson ran regular threads about lawmakers wanting to teach creationism in classrooms, with the theme that if this view prevailed and Intelligent Design and/or creationism was even discussed in schoolrooms, the Republic was doomed. While many at LGF agreed with Johnson that creationism or even intelligent design should not be taught in the schools, many were not ready to abandon their own religions and follow the tenets of Darwin. Of the religious frequenters to LGF, most realized that creationism and evolution were not necessarily contradictory.

PART 2- THE ASCENDANCE OF CHARLES JOHNSON AND LITTLE GREEN FOOTBALLS

Thread Topics, National Recognition and Commenting

It cannot be disputed that Charles Johnson was once noted for exposing radical Islam in stories that were not broadcast or found on what is termed the “mainstream media.” Johnson found interesting and newsworthy stories that went under-reported or ignored by the MSM and opened them up for discussion. He was celebrated for exposing rampant anti-Semitism found on Arabic television, especially in children’s programming. He documented efforts by the United States and others to eradicate terrorism, both politically and militarily, often sporting headlines such as “Got Two in Gaza!” or “Got Four in Lebanon!” referring to the number of enemy combatants killed.

More to the point, Little Green Footballs was interesting to read simply as an observer. His blog members at the time included well-educated, well-read individuals from all walks of life – physicians, attorneys, editors, engineers, meteorologists, teachers and other professionals, with first hand knowledge of the various topics presented for discussion. Review the comments section of any thread prior to 2009 dealing with world and domestic affairs and you will find a treasure trove of links, research, first-hand experience and commentary that rivaled anything offered by the alphabet networks and cable news.

Johnson was propelled to national attention and prominence as a central figure in the scandal known as “Rathergate,” the fraud promoted by Dan Rather and CBS. Rather and CBS proffered forged Texas Air National Guard memoranda[1] less than two months prior to the 2004 Presidential Election, in an effort to discredit President George W. Bush.
