That same self-donation looks so sad, after a month. His begging bowl is a complete disaster, just like his dead-ass blog, and very unpopular Twitterwar. 😦

  2. rightymouse says:

Bunk – have been meaning to ask for an update on your sis. Any news?

    • Bunk X says:

Righty– She had her colostomy removed, but there was a leak and she went into in septic shock. She’s still in ICU on a ventilator (day 8), undergoing dialysis and she’s not snapping out of it. Sometimes she wakes up but is non-responsive. Long-term dialysis is likely, as is a tracheotomy with a ventilator and monitor nurse, and this morning two doctors said we’ll need to make a decision on or about Monday…

  3. rightymouse says:

    What happened to “MUTE”?? Idiot.

    • Octopus says:

That’s all bullshit, anyway. Nobody is “swarming” Fatass’s deadass blog. He can barely get anyone to respond to any of his recycled glurge, positively or otherwise. He gets less attention than a gnat in an angry swarm of hornets.

  4. rightymouse says:

    Sure. Asshole.

  6. Octopus says:

Well, we have our first family member positive for Covid-19. My wife’s first cousin had to be tested as his mother was about to go in for surgery, and he was feeling ill. He’s got it, and her surgery has been cancelled until she can be cleared. She has cancer, so that’s not great. He caught it in Cape Coral, FL, where he spends most of the winter. My sister also has a home there, and she’s been posting all week about the whole thing being overblown. Umm…

    • rightymouse says:

      I pray for full recovery!!

      • Octopus says:

Now my daughter has been laid off, as the counseling center she works at has been mostly shut down, except for emergencies. The angst is through the roof. I may need counseling soon.

        • Koko says:

Argh. For some this cure of shutting down the economy might be worse than the illness. It’s amazing how quickly things have degraded economically. Back in late Feb we were still expecting a relatively minor stock market hit and quick recovery. Now we’re facing the prospect of whole industries facing insolvency. I remember making a sarcastic joke here about Boeing probably not going out of business due to it’s Supermax 737 problems. Now, without a $60 billion bailout they probably are facing bankruptcy! The entire travel and leisure industry is bent.

I bought a car on Mar 2nd. A 2019 Kia Soul with only 8900 miles. I got a good price and got about $400 off because I was paying cash. But the greedy pig in me is thinking had I known then, just a little over 2 weeks ago what I know now, I might have gotten thousands off.

          • rightymouse says:

We never buy new cars as they depreciate too much as soon as you drive them off the lot. But we do pay cash for our cars too – we despise monthly payments & comprehensive insurance. I bought a returned lease last year – 2016 Honda CR-V. Had about 30K miles on it. Paid under Blue Book value.

    • Koko says:

Lousy news. Hope he recovers quickly and his mother doesn’t get sick too.

We had a minor scare last week. My daughter was informed one of her classmates had been near someone with the virus. It appears she hasn’t gotten sick nor anyone else in the class so it was just a close call. My wife knows a woman with a bad respiratory infection who got tested but we haven’t heard anything new in days. My wife hasn’t actually been physically around her since mid-December. They’d just been texting.

  7. Octopus says:

Oh, how we’ve missed you, Fauxcahontas! 😄

    • ISTE says:

Yeah, great idea. make millions of ventilators. They are easy to use, even at home.

All you have to do is ram a tube down your throat, connect the tube to a fancy pipe that goes to the ventilator, Plug the ventilator power cord into a wall socket. Not just any wall socket but one connecting to a standby/backup generator system. Then press the fucking “GO VENTILATE ME” button and off we go. Ventilated!

It is more than just mass producing the equipment. Without trained staff the equipment is useless.

Just focusing on the mechanical aspect is a waste of time. The total requirement needs to be addressed.

Start now intensively training qualified nurses in specific skills to combat this pandemic and also “fast track” current student nurses so they can pick up some of the regular workload in hospitals.

The big picture needs to be looked at, not just mass producing ventilators.

      • Bunk X says:

What is worse – a lot of people getting sick with a large (+90%?) survival rate or destroying the US (and global) economy?

        • Bunk X says:

Our office is on shut down, but we can work from home. Unfortunately projects are being cancelled, including the one I’m currently working on.

          • Abu Don’t Wanna Work From Home says:

Agreed it’s the economy they want to destroy. Question now is how long do the sheeple take this loss of freedom?
I have this Friday in the office pool.

So far it looks like I’ll be working from the office come Monday.🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 I have 2 large monitors and snacks. Work comp emergency hearing begin Monday. Got that email yesterday. Plus every good drive-thru found in IL nearby and light traffic.

            Also Brass Bands!

A good movie if you can find it to stream is…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTTS1V2XWO8 and it shows the decline of the coal mining industry in the North of England and the impact it had on a community who relied on the mines. Shot on location in Grimethorpe on the outskirts of Barnsley.

Now, not wanting to post yet another link in case spam catcher gets me but the British film “The Full Monty” is in the same genre and details the impact of the decline of the steel industry in the Sheffield area on the workers.

          • ISTE says:

Also for either film translation services can be provided. 🙂

Another film that depicts where I grew up, and filmed at exactly the same time as I was there is “Kes” ( 1969 )The high school featured was a few miles from my high school and many of the actors were not in fact actors as such but real people being themselves.

So, if you can find it on your streaming service and are bored then give the film a look.

And if you watch it to the end, I do not care who you are and how tough you are, you are going to cry.

Looks like a good one to checkout. From Ken Loach. Who appears to be both high quality and prolific. Apparently he’s avoided Hollyweird. Born in ’36, still making movies. His son (coincidentally born in ’69 when Kes was made) is also a director. He did two episodes of “Tin Star” for I think Amazon. A show I initially liked but I felt went off the rails story-wise in the second season.

    https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2020/03/19/larry-the-cable-guy-calls-out-celebs-for-singing-imagine-while-ignoring-l-a-s-homeless/

Larry nails it of course. Too it’s rather absurd that millionaire celebutards are singing a song written by another millionaire celebutard while camped out on the floor of his NY mansion after first selling millions of record at profit in a capitalist system. A song about a communistic dream world where everyone’s a hippie globalist and all traditional values and identities have been thrown out. And presumably everyone’s equal and no one has millions hoarded in a bank account and not really sharing it like everyone in that stupid, hideously bad singing video.

Lennon stated: “‘Imagine’, which says: ‘Imagine that there was no more religion, no more country, no more politics,’ is virtually the Communist Manifesto, even though I’m not particularly a Communist and I do not belong to any movement.”

Wow. it’s doubtful the Chinese TV network was trying to infect Italy, but shows how callous and uncaring the government is to let them do such a thing. And how the Chinese people have themselves been lied to about the seriousness of the virus.

As far as I’ve heard, everything Tucker says here is true. Of course he’s being denounced as an anti-Chinese racist bigot for stating the exact truth. Namely that the lying deceitful Chicoms are squarely to blame for allowing this to become a global pandemic.

Ha! Clinton bashed Trump so ridiculously and unfairly that the Chinese heartily agreed! And even brazenly piled on saying Trump’s just trying to hide his failed response to the global pandemic which need never have happened had they not lied for weeks. Should come in handy in campaign ads should the old crook try to run again.

The butt hurt snowflakes are appealing to the drive by media to stop airing Trump briefing because ya know, he’s KERRRKAAAZY and going to get people killed. Evidently by shoving his foot up NBC’s fake news hacks asses. In reality it has to do with this:

    https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/488597-majority-of-americans-approve-of-trumps-handling-of-coronavirus-poll

IOW the country trusts Trump and not Fake News scumbags.

And interferes with their latest fake narrative marching orders to use this in every story: “Administration incompetence and failure to respond to the pandemic.” WaPo, CNN, NY Slimes, and NBC news had all done stories using this in some form and saying Trump is lying in these briefings before today’s blowup. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/trump-s-coronavirus-claims-haven-t-matched-response-reality-n1164041

When asked what he was planning on doing he told reporters on a press call that he was looking into the question, that they were trying to set things up, but that that was “above my paygrade.” They tell me there’s ways we can do teleconferencing via us all being in different locations,” Biden said, according to the Washington Examiner.

Ya think? Nice to come up to speed, there, Joe. Really? He didn’t know about teleconferencing? I suppose we’re fortunate that he didn’t start talking about record players again.

    https://business.financialpost.com/pmn/business-pmn/goldman-props-own-money-market-funds-with-1-billion-after-heavy-withdrawals

Oh crap. The Feds just set aside $10 billion for fiduciaries who’s money markets are short of cash and can’t liquidate assets fast enough. They’re thinking that’s for smaller houses. Not for chrissakes Goldman Sachs!!! These are funds when you want to temporarily move into cash. They’re not really cash but they’re cash-like. Assets are considered short term and easily liquid. They maintain a NAV of $1.00. They used to give a decent interest rate like 25 years ago but now days with interest rates around 0 all the time they barely keep up with inflation. If they can’t meet their cash obligations as people dump stock and bond funds then they break their $ NAV (net asset value). Which is a total shit show for an investor who thought I was safe. Er…. I mean said hypothetical investor whom he or she thought they were safe. LOL! But it’s like a run on the bank.

Seriously I SHOULD be safe as I’m in a gubmint cash reserves fund with a company who used to employ me who’s name starts with an F and ends with a Y. During the last crisis my company could pay everyone their jack 7 times over before crying Uncle. I was reading about this the other day and they say all the big reputable houses like Vanguard or TIAA or GS or starts with an F, ends with a Y – the very last thing they would ever want is to break that buck in the MM funds and other cash like vehicles. What we used to call “reputational risk”. Yeah reputational isn’t a word – it’s biz speak for they don’t trust their money with you. But then we all thought 2008 was the biggest clusterfuck that could happen.

Golly I keep getting to see horrible shocking things in life that I was really hoping I would die before they ever happen. Jim Jones. 9/11. Iraq lighting it’s oil on fire to spite the world. A quake/tsunami that casually takes 230,000 lives in a beautiful tropical paradise morning in Indonesia. The 2008 bad mortgage derivatives bank crisis shit show. A quake/tsunami that kills upwards of 20,000 in Japan AND causes a nuclear China Syndrome problem that is intractable to this day. Even robots get burnt up by the radiation pouring out of those reactors, they don’t say it but no one really knows where those cores are and radiation continues to contaminate the sea.

Well what’s next? I’m up for anything now! Perhaps Yellowstone could go super volcano and finish us off? How ’bout a nice planet killer sent with Love and Kisses 😘🥰 from the Kuiper belt? Who wants to die quietly morphined up in a Hospice bed somewhere?? Not me. I’d much rather be trudging through a nuclear winter fallout with my radiation poisoned family and dog searching for food and hoping not to get shot by the armed roving bands. Now that’s livin’!!

We’re going Americano with steak and baked potatoes tonight. I’ve been trying to stick to a strict diet and exercise program, so I need the beef. Even though we just finished the pot roast, yesterday. RED MEAT!1!

  33. Octopus says:

I have to give my daughter credit. After getting laid-off Friday and going on a self-pity bender for the evening, she’s reconciled herself to the 120-day “vacation,” and has a plan. She’s going to spend the days studying for the accreditation exam, which will give her a license and higher pay eventually. She also got a job writing scripts for a guy she used to work for, who does half-hour webinars — she gets $100 each, and he needs five in the next five weeks, so at least she’ll have something to augment her unemployment pay, which is about 60% of her regular pay.

So, she’s living and learning. That’s what these “life tests” are for.

    • Koko says:

That’s good news. A job in the hand is always desired. But sometimes an unwanted change can bring better things. I knew a guy at my old employer who failed his series 6 exam that we all had to take. So they couldn’t put him on the phones to make investment changes. Instead he seemed promising and they put him in back office operations where he did fine. Eventually he ended up a highly regarded and well paid business analyst. I worked on a lot of projects with him. He also used to do triathlons. He stopped training for awhile and decided he wanted to get back into shape. He told me – I started my running by running down to our church, meeting my wife and getting a ride back. I said How far? He said that’s about 11 or 12 miles, you think that’s enough? I said Bill I’m lucky to run that much in a week. LOL 🙂

Today I finally decided to take a look at the South end ( as in the South end of a Northbound cat ) and they are both boys.

Now, you are thinking there must be some way of telling them apart. Well you are correct, one of them has a very slight droop at the tip of his left ear, sometimes….

No, it is not that easy, I have a strange feeling that they BOTH have the same occasional ear tip droop. I think they are not just twins they are identical twins.

Why is this important you may ask. Well I would really like to know which one climbed into my bed last night and took a shit.

The thing is, Fatass, he’s 100% correct about this. His approval-ratings continue to climb, even as the public’s distrust and disdain of the media grows to all-time levels. So…who’s sundowning? Not him. Your enormous, futon-fused ass. 😂

No! Shimano derailleurs are fine, top-notch in fact. But the wheels that came on my bike are another story. I’ll keep them as spares (after replacing all the spokes), but in my opinion the WH-R540 wheelset has a serious design flaw — the way the spoke enters the side of the rim — that makes them unreliable for daily use.

It’s kind of odd to consider, that while most of the country chafes under the new restrictions on going out and interacting with other humans, for Chonky, it’s normal daily life. Think about that fact, when you read his blather about what the rest of us are dealing with.

It was so clear what the shithead reporter was trying to do here, the Idiot Left had to spend the whole weekend defending him. The Nevertrumpers, too. American approval of Trump’s handling of the crisis went up a couple of more points.

          Re: Chonky’s Incessant Whining

“ Nobody likes a whiner. Nobody. Whining accomplishes nothing. It doesn’t create anything. It doesn’t build anything. It doesn’t solve anything. It’s just a useless reaction to real problems. We live in a world where people are increasingly making demands for things they’re unwilling to work for, forgetting that we, as Americans, are guaranteed the pursuit of happiness, not happiness itself. You have to work for it. You have to hustle. You have to accept that nothing good comes without failure. Whining is simply a result of high expectations and low output. This is something we’re supposed to grow out of by the time we reach our adult years. Sadly, this isn’t the case for everyone. Sometimes people just need to be reminded to stop whining. Don’t be a whiner. Be a doer. Let the whiners fall behind as you move forward.”

Cuomo is throwing a fit about Trump not using wartime powers to make some herculean effort to help NY only. The reason he was throwing a fit is because he doesn’t want this from 2015 to come out.

      https://www.creators.com/read/betsy-mccaughey/03/20/new-yorks-ventilator-rationing-plan

…After learning that the state’s stockpile of medical equipment had 16,000 fewer ventilators than New Yorkers would need in a severe pandemic, Gov. Andrew Cuomo came to a fork in the road in 2015. He could have chosen to buy more ventilators. Instead, he asked his health commissioner, Howard Zucker to assemble a task force and draft rules for rationing the ventilators they already had.

That task force came up with rules that will be imposed when ventilators run short. Patients assigned a red code will have the highest access, and other patients will be assigned green, yellow or blue (the worst) depending on a “triage officer’s” decision. In truth, a death officer. Let’s not sugarcoat it. It won’t be up to your own doctor.

Cuomo could have purchased the additional 16,000 needed ventilators for $36,000 apiece or a total of $576 million in 2015. It’s a lot of money but less than the $750 million he threw away on a boondoggle “Buffalo Billion” solar panel factory. When it comes to state budget priorities, spending half a percent of the budget on ventilators is a no brainer.

Also, I noticed that according to the picture a cat is included. Not heard any noises coming from the box but maybe I should poke a few air holes in the box just in case the enclosed cat wakes up.
