Before they went across the railway bridge, where there was no where to go if a train came they should have put their head and an ear on one of the rails.

You can hear a train coming when it is miles away.

Using a railway to get somewhere without being turned into hamburger 101

          I can’t relate, sorry.
As a kid, all I remember was pristine beach vacations in Thailand, that are difficult to replicate now because of all the friggin’ hotels.
One of my favorite treats still, from those days, is buttered toast with Marmite. Does that count? 🙂

        • Bunk X says:

Yes. Listen before you cross. I did, but it didn’t help me. At least I didn’t get arrested for accidentally breaking into and out of the GoodYear blimp compound in Akron. The guard dogs were barking but they were never set loose, Thank God.

The United States of America is far from perfect ( That just pissed off my American friends )

My country ( the UK )is getting seriously stupid!

    Hey hold my beer….

While I apply for United States of America citizenship.

Yes my friends and haters, I have made a life changing choice.

    • rightymouse says:

Congratulations, my friend! You’ve made a good choice! One of my Cuban friends years ago decided to become liberal leaning because he was gay. I celebrated him when he became an American Citizen. That was more important than his liberal ideology. Then I beat him up every chance I got after that. 😆

    • Octopus says:

I don’t know anybody who thinks America is perfect, or even close to perfect. It’s just the best system that’s been devised so far. It’s being destroyed from within by socialists, race-baiters and other low forms of life, but there’s a slight pause in that process thanks to the election of Trump.

  7. Minnow says:

Hey Charles, when was the last time (if ever) that you actually made a decision and then followed through with doing something for someone else. Please just name one.

Newt is one of the few RethugliKKKans who understood the need for Trump early on, and he’s still in our great President’s corner. I think he’s completely right about the need to turn the Deep State inside out at this moment in history, and force a reckoning. We may never get this chance again, if the investigation is allowed to be subverted.

Uh….exactly what race is Valerie Jarett? Last I checked she’s of Iranian ancestry and apparently white. How come no one lost their jobs for calling GW Chimpy McHitler?? His ears stuck out and he had thin lips like a chimp’s. Valerie has an unfortunate sort of flaring nose, wide cheekbones and squinty eyes reminiscent of certain lower primates. Fair game.

    Genetics of Iran

Genetically, Iranians are definitely “Mediterranean/Caucasian white”, but Iranians sport many “Nordic white” features too, such as blue or green eyes or blonde hair and akin. In borders of Iran with Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq you can find genetically mixed people who aren’t white nor Caucasian due to the intermarriages with Afghan or Arab immigrants who are from other side of the borders. They only constitute 2% to 3% of Iranian population.

Well today came home from work and Houston PD sitting at the entrance to the gated parking lot.

I was third in line to get in.

Actually I was on the right side of the road indicating left as the entrance to the parking lot was occupied.

The officer was pressing the button to talk to someone to let them in.

I saw it and knew there was nobody on the other end of the button, so got out of my car, crossed the road and swiped my card to let them in.

You should have seen the nasty, evil looks I got from car 1 and 2 behind the police car!

If someone had not let them in we would still have been sitting there..

And, why were the police called to the apartment complex?

A child being in need of help?

    I do not know.

LOL the terms of my rental agreement states I MUST NOT allow access to anyone by giving them my car park thingy.

I am a REBEL! I gave my car parking tag to Houston Police Department for ten seconds.

And I would do it again, every time.

  31. Octopus says:

I think Roseanne had a little too much Memorial Day fun, and someone should have taken the keys (on her keyboard) away from her. Don’t drink and tweet! Unless you’re Gus, of course. Then, go to town. 😆

  32. Octopus says:

They said she was getting fat, but they were the ones who were sweaty pigs. They said she was partying too hard, as if that’s even possible. They said she was taking her “bad girl” rep too seriously, and living too fast for the rest of us to keep up. They should shut their lying whore mouths.

    • Octopus says:

It took an incredible save by the Caps’ goalie to preserve this win. I was sure Vegas was going to pull this one out. They just keep coming. A team built of cast-offs is going to win the Cup…it’s maddening. 😆

After much consideration, and recognizing the hypocrisy of the Left, while realizing they are bringing the full weight of their fascist arrogance down on an apostate who just happened to be the star of the most popular TV show going, I have decided Roseanne needed firing. She called a black woman an ape, in 2018 America. She did the same four years ago, in 2014. It’s not cool with me, despite the ugly insults hurled at conservatives of any color by the Left which usually lead to no punishment at all, much less this kind of career-ending beatdown. But what do I know? I’m just a caveman. Your world frightens and confuses me.

“It’s not okay. The McCabe case illustrates what an organization committed to the truth looks like,” Comey said. “I ordered that investigation.”

Comey then appeared to try and frame McCabe as a “good person” despite all the lying.

“Good people lie. I think I’m a good person, where I have lied,” Comey said. “I still believe Andrew McCabe is a good person but the inspector general found he lied,” noting that there are “severe consequences” within the DOJ for doing so.

Good to know Comey thinks McCabe is a “good person”. So he’s got that going for him. Which is nice.

  50. Chunk is stuck on the couch and can't get up! says:

Heh. So it turns out (which was news to me) that Valerie Jarrett is actually black as the term is used these days. In that she’s descended from prominent and well educated professional Chicago blacks of mixed black and white descent on both sides of her family Her great grandfather, who is descended from a half white slave son of a white owner went to MIT. Her grandfather on her mother’s side was a renowned black architect and the first black accredited architect. The confusion about Iran is her father, a renowned pathologist and mother (who looks completely white) and also highly academically and professionally accomplished, went to Iran to run a children’s hospital where Valerie was born. Hence the confusion of Valerie being a fully caucasion Iranian by some (including me and evidently Roseanne Barr). But actually being of mixed blood American descent. The high achievement in her family is remarkable. Even her great-great grandfather who was the son of a white slave master (who freed him in 1847) and a black mother gained notoriety and social standing as a master (yes ironically) carpenter. Their mixed ancestry coupled with their high achievement apparently gave them a greater social mobility, access to opportunity and provided a level of tolerance in white society.

A DNA test taken by the show Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. (2014) stated that Valerie’s genetic ancestry is:

    *49% European
    ——–approx. *28% Irish and Scottish
    ——–*16% Scandinavia
    ——–*3% Western Europe
    ——–*2% Ashkenazi Jewish
    *46% Sub-Saharan African
    ——–*24% Nigeria
    ——–*8% Congo
    ——–*6% Ivory Coast and Ghana
    ——–*5% Senegal
    ——–*2% Southeastern Bantu
    ——–*1% Benin and Togo
    *5% Native American

  51. Minnow says:

Typical of the so-called Progressive Left… Samantha Bee is considered a comedian.

The garbage that comes out of her mouth couldn’t be further from comedy or humor. What a piece of trash she is! First, she calls Ivanka a Cxxt. Then (and no one has said anything on this point) she implies that Ivanka has an ongoing sexual relationship with her father.

Excuse me while I don’t laugh.

And then…. take that moron Keith Olbermann (who Two-bit Charlie is so infatuated with) and his spew regarding President Trump!!??? And ESPN just gave this asshole a contract???

Talk about a double standard. What utter crap.

    And fuck you too Charles.

    • Octopus says:

That disgusting Leftist meme about PDT and Ivanka being romantically involved has been HA-HA-HO-HO-hilarious in their sick minds since before the election. Shows you how they think. Such incestuous ideas are considered quite normal in their twisted world.

ESPN is on the verge of going under due to their idiotic embrace of all things anti-American and anti-conservative, so they had a huddle to figure out how to break the thing down faster. Hold my latte, let’s hire Olbie! 😆

Our auxiliary dog, Henry, theoretically owned by my younger daughter but being raised by Maria and me, is studying for his LSAT. I’d sport that before I’d even consider wearing a hipster manbun. Or a magical jazzy ponytail.

          • Octopus says:

There were several variations of the hipster man-bun/ponytail/samurai manbun-ponytail present at the funeral today. Lots of college kids and recent graduates, which is nice to see, but some of them are just trying too hard to stay cool. Give it up, kids! You can be cool in high school, cool in college to a lesser degree, and then it just gets clingy and kind of sad. You have to grow up, and do uncool things like work all the time and struggle to raise kids, while maintaining a reasonable facsimile of not-losing-your-shit. We’ve all been there, and we feel your pain. And now we (kind of) envy you your youthfulness, if not your naivete.

  56. Octopus says:

Spent last night at the funeral home and today at the funeral of this fine lady, who was my brother-in-law’s mother-in-law, but beyond that a great friend and matriarch of the church and extended family. A take-charge gal like nobody I’ve ever seen, with strong, smart opinions about everything. More of a Biblical believer than me, but she knew her stuff on a lot of issues, including self-responsibility and expecting others to live up to their responsibilities. She overcame the devastating loss of her husband five years and three kids into their marriage — not only did she join the workforce and raise her family by herself, she adopted another girl who was being neglected by her drunkard brother. RIP, Georgia. Well done.

    • rightymouse says:

She sounds like she was a fabulous person! How lucky you are to have had her in your life!

She was one of those Greatest Generation, Depression-era kids. About 4’11” and tougher than a thousand Trigglypuffs. 🙂

  57. ISTE says:

Saturday afternoon gardening tip. This tool is essential for any lady gardeners wanting to turn plastic or metal containers into beautiful and functional plant pots.

Drilling drainage holes using a regular drill bit in thin material is quite DANGEROUS. As soon as the drill bit goes through the material it snags and you end up with a spinning plastic bucket on the end of your drill.

That is for a hole of about 1/2 inch diameter. You can drill smaller holes up to about 1/4 inch in relative safety but it will take you a long time to drill enough, and they will easily block when in use.

The proper and SAFE(R) way to cut large holes in thin material is to use a step drill bit.

It cuts a nice clean hole in small steps. You choose a step bit size that is LARGER than your target hole size and just keep drilling until the required diameter hole is achieved.

Some expensive step drill buts will drill OK without a pilot hole, but I recommend you drill a, say 1/8th inch pilot hole first.

Do all your pilot holes in all your containers first to avoid multiple bit changes.

Anyway Lucy uses one and she found a video of a very nice man demonstrating the technique.

The best thing about this, is that we have a couple in the Greek church who are known as “Flo and Eddie,” even though that is not their names. They’re hippies of the Sixties, who look just like their famous namesakes. They never had children, and live kind of a sad life, from what I can tell. I just hope they’re happy together.

Another Youtube lead-on, this time to a performance from Seger’s massive, world-conquering tour of ’78. I’ve known for a long time that people outside of Michigan don’t get him the way we do, and there was a long stretch of time I was tired of his constant radio-play and commercial, keyboard-inflected rock, but the guy wrote a bunch of tunes on my personal life-movie soundtrack, and I had a good time at every Seger concert I attended, at least five by my current count. He got too commercial, aka, “too good at providing what the people wanted,” and then became uncool to the kids pushing punk, alt-rock and grunge, among other fleeting trends.

From the Turtles vid above, this gem:

Tommy Smothers was an American treasure who didn’t get the recognition he deserved, imho. He was freakin’ hilarious, at his best. The politics of the times got him mental for a time, but he recovered later. I like this bit from his Wiki-page:

    Political involvement

After the show was canceled, Tom became more strident in his politics.

I lost perspective, my sense of humour. I became a poster boy for the First Amendment, freedom of speech, and I started buying into it. It was about three years when I was deadly serious about everything….I’m still politically active, I’m still angry, but I’ve got it in the right position now.[6]

In the 1970s, Smothers chided popular comedian Bill Cosby for not taking a stand on political issues of the day like civil rights.

At the time I was very volatile, and thought everyone should take a stand. I guess I said something that really pissed him [off]. For a couple years after that, I’d say, ‘Hiya Bill, how ya doing?’ and he wouldn’t shake hands with me – you know, like, ‘Fuck off.”[14]

In October 1976, both Cosby and Smothers were in attendance at a Playboy Mansion party. The tension between the two culminated in Cosby’s punching Smothers in the head.[14]

…and then Cosby proceeded to drug one of the Playmates and rape her, before retiring to his own mansion. That’s the real news of the time, folks.

As a kid in Catholic school in the Sixties, one of my classmates brought a transistor radio into the classroom with a single earplug, so he could listen to pop music in fourth-grade. The nun caught his ass, and upbraided him before God and the classroom most righteously, demanding, “What are you listening to on the radio, that’s more important than your education?” My boy Tim responded, fearfully, “Don’t you ever listen to the radio?” She snatched him out of his seat, dragged him to the front on the way to see Fr. Meanski, and the class saved him by yelling out, “That’s the name of the song!” Close enough. The song was “Heavy Music,” a local Detroit hit by Rockin’ Robert. Phew!

Years later, the live version also became a local hit, like the rest of “Live Bullet,” and I was always reminded of that perilous scene. Listen to the way this band locks in on the beat, as the song moves along — maybe James Brown had a tighter band, but I doubt it. Seger had toured his band for several years straight at that point, firing non-performers and druggies along the way, always looking to upgrade. His finest drummer, Charlie Martin, has a vocal call-and-response with Bob here — he was rendered a paraplegic a few months later, hit by a car on the highway while still on tour with the suddenly mega-popular band.

Did they pay their dues? Yes.

Things are really bad, son. Unemployment at record lows, the housing market stronger than it’s been since garages became unemployed relatives bedrooms…how much worse can things get, under what your master calls, “The Trump Horror?” I shudder to think…”workfare?” AIIIIEEEEE!!1!

Octo is raising his daughter’s pup and it needs house-training – good luck, Octo!! Your home is so immaculate, can’t even imagine this scenario! 😆

We’re raising son’s pup ( 2 year old rescue center dog) who needs aggression training with other people & dogs. Am happy to report that the zap-collar she’s had on since we hired a dog-training company has worked!! She’s half Rottweiler & possibly half Shar Pei. This pic looks like her.

I love Rotties! Saw a great one today, walking his human. They’re the best guard dogs, and they will fight to the death for their families. Have to make sure they’re properly trained, like all dogs, but more so since they’re so big and strong.

How could that possibly matter, when you don’t work and spend every day tweeting from the time you roll off the cot until the time you pass out from the Sterno-n-ditchweed? Isn’t every day Funday, unless you have to move out of the latest garage apartment?
