The Race Detective is in a triumphant mood the last 24 hours over reports that Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) spoke in front of grpoup that was founded by Ex KKK leader David Duke. Charles did 5 posts in 24 hours about this news involving Rep. Scalise.
As usual, the Race Detective overlooks one aspect of this story, David Duke is a man of the Left.
Former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard and Louisiana state representative David Duke jumped on the breaking controversyyesterday about the House majority whip’s appearance at a conference of his group 12 years ago.
Duke called the Huffington Post after the story on Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) emerged in the Washington Post to compliment Scalise, declare himself a liberal and toss anti-Semitic invective at former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.).
David Duke is a supporter of the progressive Occupy Wall Street movement.
David Duke with his anti-free market views and anti-semitism would fit right in at LGF! This is another huge fail for the Race Detective. I think Charles needs a new hobby!
Another year has come and gone, and you know what that means:
It’s Time for the 2014 LGF AWARDS!
This second entry in the 2014 year end statistics series is a look at the most prolific commenters for the year. As the title of this post has already revealed, and for the first time since 2010, Gus was NOT the top lizard. Though Gus and Alouette both posted thousands fewer comments in 2014 than 2013, Gus’s notable Twitter obsession may have cost him the top spot this year.
Of particular note:
- Charles continues in his quest to dominate the comment section of his own blog, climbing 4 spots up to 5th this year. The two newcomers (both joined in 2013) more than doubled their post count in 2014, but the rest of last year’s leaders seem to be losing interest.
- Dark_Falcon might be tiring of getting slapped around and forced to recant whenever he offends the hivemind.
- Obdicut, a Top 6 commenter for 3 years (2010-2012), dropped to 46th.
- ProLifeLiberal seems less interested, dropping 39 spots to 70th.
- HoosierHoops, since moving to Northern Wisconsin last December, has had much less to say about his love life.
Even when the Race Detective makes a blind squirrel discovery he has to be a dick about it. Charles goes after Kim Jung Un and North Korea for racially insulting Obama. For once, the Race Detective would be right, but instead of doing a righteous deed he attacks the right. Charles states the racial insult from North Korea is indistinguishable from “tea party” criticism of Obama.
Even when the Race Detective is right, he has to ruin it by being a smear merchant.
This is the first of a series of at least 1 year end statistics post to be published during the next several days. This one focuses on changes to the LGF all-time commenter rankings. For the first time since January 2009, when MandyManners passed the already banned babbazee to assume the top spot, there is a new record holder. Around December 19th, Gus 802 surpassed MM and now squats alone atop the commenter pile, littered such as it is with the bodies of 16000 blocked accounts. The current top 20 all-time posters are:
A couple of things of note:
- Charles is rocketing up the list, 16th (2012) to 13th (2013) to 9th.
- Alouette is headed for the top 10 having come up from 59th (2012) to 22nd (2013) to 14th.
- Leaving the top 20 this year was Walter L. Newton, slipping off the list from 19th last year.
In the spirit of the season we will not do a thread today mocking your paranoia about Nazis led by Ron Paul taking over the globe. Merry Christmas, Charles, and try to enjoy yourself for one day.
Eating is an activity that you do very well Charles!

The flatulent, corpulent, libel blogger who is always looking for Nazis, Republicans or Creationists behind every despicable act is shockingly (not) silent when members of the Religion of Peace decide to drive cars into pedestrians in France. Normally this type of story would be prominent in the old LGF but hey why should an important story come between him and his doppelganger obsession (one Charles C. Johnson)
Assault in Nantes marks third French incident in as many days; driver stabbed himself repeatedly with knife after mowing down shoppers and passers-by.

A man ploughed a van into a crowded Christmas market in Nantes in western France on Monday, injuring at least 10 people in the country’s third violent attack in as many days.
The driver, who authorities said stabbed himself after the crash, and four people were badly injured, with one of the victims in critical condition, local officials said.
France is on high alert for attacks on its soil after calls from Islamist militants to attack French citizens and interests in reprisal for the country’s military strikes on Islamist strongholds in the Middle East and Africa this year.
Authorities called on people to keep calm and said the driver had made no religious or political claims, appeared to have acted alone, and likely suffered from mental illness.
A local newspaper first reported that the driver had shouted “Allahu Akbar” (“God is greatest” in Arabic), but witnesses told Reuters that he had not said it.
The incident occurred a day after a man rammed his car into crowds in the eastern city of Dijon, shouting “Allahu Akbar”. Thirteen people were injured. On Saturday, a man was shot after he stabbed and wounded three police officers in central France while yelling “Allahu Akbar”.
“We are all concerned about this series of tragedies,” Prime Minister Manuel Valls said in a statement. He said earlier that “never before have we faced such a high danger of terrorism.”
Prosecutors said on Monday that the Dijon driver suffered from mental illness, had received psychiatric care over 150 times in the past 13 years and had no ideological motive.
They also said they had not found any link between the events in Dijon and the Saturday attack in Joue-les-Tours, which is being probed by counter-terrorism prosecutors in Paris.
The attacker in Joue-les-Tours, a 20-year-old Burundi national and convert to Islam named Bertrand, had written a will in which he asked God to “give him strength”, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins told a news conference.
Intelligence services had been closely watching Bertrand’s 19-year-old brother Brice after their mother told authorities that Brice had embraced radical Islam, Molins said.
Two days before attacking the police station, Bertrand imitated his brother in posting on his Facebook page a flag of the extremist group that calls itself Islamic State, Molins said.
