A Very Gus-y Christmas at LGF

As ChenZhen recently pointed out, just three short years ago Gus got out the step ladder, mounted his high horse and passed judgement on us “pathetic sadsacks”:

e

while simultaneously posting 30 comments and 1 link/page/thread thing over at LGF.

So what did Mr. 802 do to honor/respect/keep the holidays this year?  Why he had not one but two posts promoted to the front page!    The first concerned an innocuous Donald Trump tweet about Pope Francis.  Not sure what moral lesson was to be had with that one.

But for the second, he worked himself up into a fine lather of righteous indignation because someone officially connected to the GOP and NRC [sic] had dared send out a tweet implying…  wait for it…  that Sandra Fluke has flabby arms.  ZOMG!1!!eleventy  This, he stated, constituted another “Great moment in Republican rebranding”, echoing one of his master’s lamer memes.

So who is this official spokesperson for the GOP and NRC? It’s someone using the Twitter handle @GOPFashionista.   And Gus’ proof of “official connection”?  This screenshot:

gopfashion
But it’s always wise to read the fine print. And it’s right there, on the very page he cited, in the lower left corner:

disclaim
But at the Swamp, they don’t let facts get in the way of a good pile-on.

ChenZhen: As pathetic as that was, it just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.  Now there wasn’t much guessing going on in that previous thread, unfortunately, but I don’t think anyone could have called this. In addition to the aforementioned threads, here’s the final tally for Gus’s Christmas as prepared by Apollo:

Dec 24:  100 tweets    65 LGF comments
Dec 25:   93 tweets     33 LGF comments

You’re reading that right; that’s almost 200 tweets and almost 100 LGF comments. On Christmas.

And it’s not like he banged it all out in the morning before heading out to be with the family or something (not sure that’s possible given the sheer volume, but…). If you want to work in some time of day info, he puts in pretty full days on Twitter:

last tweet on the 23rd was at   10:23 PM
his tweets on the 24th cover     8:45 AM – 7:33 PM
his tweets on the 25th cover     8:01 AM – 9:21 PM
started tweeting on the 26th at  8:30 AM

And on Christmas Eve, his LGF comments were spread between 10:10 AM to 7:30 PM

Here’s one of the tweets, and this probably sums it up the best:

Indeed.

Should we feel bad for this guy? I mean, this is kinda sad, actually.

Sorry Gus, I am too busy making a living…. earning real money…. interacting with clients…. setting the standard in my chosen profession… enjoying the holidays with my family!!

And, oh….. yeah… having a Hell of a good time!!

In happier news, Chunky is seething with the green-eyed monster, watching Greenwald dominate the news shows and whatnot. He’s even taken to calling Glenn, “The Mighty Greenwald,” which I guess says a LOT about how low Fatass is feeling tonight. 😥

He was surprisingly rational about the seething RoP and its wild-eyed adherents.

And of course, surprising no one, A&E has announced that the racist, anti-gay, misogynistic hillbilly who heads the Duck Dynasty show is not suspended any more.

  17. Octopus says:

I don’t know about misogynist, but Phil is definitely anti-beaver. He and his brother wage a never-ending war against the furry miscreants, damn them all to Hell. 😈

  18. Octopus says:

Here is the quote from Phil that brought the Race Detectives running, though they were a little slower than the fitness-minded gays:

“I never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person,” Robertson told GQ writer Drew Margary. “Not once. Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I’m with the blacks, because we’re white trash. We’re going across the field…. They’re singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person, say, ‘I tell you what: These doggone white people’—not a word!… Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues.”

The idea that Robertson remembers a time and place where poor whites and blacks worked together without a lot of hatred and race-baiting simply enrages the Professional Victim Society. It makes me laugh to see the Race Detectives all exercised. 😆

    • Doppel milto says:

the race hustlers and poverty pimps need racism and race warfare. The Revvverend Al isn’t driving a nice car because everybody gets along.

then there are the self hating whites on MSNBC and in the blogosphere like Icarus that seem to carry some sort of guilt and feel better somehow by supporting the Sharpton crowd.

Just poking my head in to mention that I’m finding myself disagreeing with Johnson more and more over Edward Snowden.

While I understand that surveillance can be used to prevent terrorism, I also know that it can be used to use our massive preponderance of laws against victimless crimes to ruin the lives of people who are minding their own business and engaging in “the pursuit of happiness” that we thoughtfully mentioned in the declaration of independence.

Until such time as we don’t have any laws made by moralists of all sorts (including environmentalists) and bitter old people who live to yell “get off my lawn!” we don’t want law enforcement monitoring us all day long.

In the 70s most young adults smoked pot. Law enforcement could put any adult away at any time they wanted for that, and even if you weren’t guilty, since everyone smoked, people would be willing to BELIEVE that you were guilty even if you weren’t. The combination of laws like that with 24/7 recorded surveillance is a setup for massive abuse of power.

And our history shows that American law enforcement is more moralistic than legalistic, they will bend rules to get people more often than not. The last thing we need is patriot-act like loss of protection from them.

I kind of doubt that a blog full of conservatives will agree with all my points, but here the are – my latest break with fatso.

Also, while Glen Greenwald is clearly an anti-american asshole, he’s not the story, why talk about him at all?

    • Abu says:

        Try them both.

    • trebob says:

Stabs, you have any evidence that American law enforcement is more moralistic than legalistic, other than a few anecdotal stories? You wouldn’t just be spouting things out of your ass again are you?

See Charles’ rump swabbing post 2001 for freshening tips.

      • stabby says:

Reinterpretation of laws to be more draconian than intended is more to the point on this issue than bending rules.

For instance California’s “three strikes” laws was sold with the argument that it would only be applied to dangerous, violent crimes, but in practice it was applied for all kinds of laws. This shouldn’t have been a surprise because that’s the kind of thing that aways happens.

The example from Texas where someone with a tab of acid was charged as a dealer by the ridiculous trick of pretending that the weight of the paper was the weight of the drug (ie 1 dose was charged as thousands of doses) might make another example. Or the guy who went to jail for micrograms of THC supposedly detected in a well cleaned pipe in his car.

As I pointed out a few months ago, the NSA’s tapping of international calls was already used in a file sharing/copyright trial – there IS no wall between the NSA and law enforcement, they don’t collect only for the military, they collect for the government.

As for legalistic/moralistic, the examples are endless but you’re not worth any effort.

Heh here’s one. The principle that courts (especially lower ones) should respect precedents and not make random decisions was never respected in the case of hard core porn in trials before the 80s which is why it used to be hard to find, no one could be sure if they’d go to prison for printing it in the US. Judges’ morals overrode legal principles, in general.

      • trebob says:

Yeah stabs, you spouting stiff isn’t evidence. You got links for your stories? California 3 strikes applied to felonies. There wasn’t anything in there about violent crime, just felonies. There should be some court records or newspaper accounts of the LSD and ganja stories.

Can’t find anything about the NSA helping in copyright cases either.

        Links please.

Geez, you really are willfully stupid aren’t you? Can you show any evidence of that, or just pulling stuff outta your ass again? You can’t even show one account of your stupid examples, only spout nonsense that anyone over 40 will know about them. Did you read about those examples over at pajamas media a few years ago too?

What really fascinates me is that you didn’t choose one of the premier examples that would back up your statement and that would be the moralistic way the regime treated George Zimmerman. Now there’s a clear cut case of moralistic persecution (yes I used the correct word) of a citizen over the legalistic interpretation of the law.

So genius, please show how conservatives who wish for less government actually want more government so they can harm non-conservatives. Give some examples. But you won’t because you are a silly little monkey.

By the way, examples aren’t you spouting more nonsense, but examples and evidence will come from sources that aren’t stabby and aren’t something stabby heard from some guy on the pajamas media comment section a few years ago. Newspaper accounts, links to reports, videos, etc all go toward making you more credible.
