The Flemish Menace reaches Scotland!Posted: September 28, 2013
There was a time when the Flemish anti-Islamic party Vlaams Belang was at the heart of Charles Johnson’s Ron Paul led global 4th Reich plot. His obsession with a Belgium regional party and his attempts to link it to Ron Paul and Tobacco companies showed his paranoia. In recent times, the Gyro-Fascist Golden Dawn Party has become his main focus as part of this plot. He has not mentioned the dreaded Flemish menace and their feared snipers in recent times. Clearly Charles is slacking becasue they are back!
Scottish Nationalists of the Scottish Nationalist Front were seen marching in Edinburgh with members of the Vlaamse Volksbeweging or the Flemish People’s movement. This Flemish movement is affiliated with the dreaded Vlaams Belang!
But among the saltires and the thistle emblems carried by the marchers was another, much more worrying flag – the yellow banner, with its roaring black lion, of an organisation called the Vlaamse Volksbeweging, the Flemish People’s Movement.
The VVB, which campaigns for Flemish independence from Belgium, was an official participant at the rally. “Scotland and Flanders are one, joined on their way towards independence and real democracy,” said its chairman, Steven Vergauwen, in Edinburgh yesterday. At the same event last year, the VVB’s president, Guido Moons, even spoke from the platform alongside Salmond.
But the SNP’s new friends are an uncomfortable reminder that nationalism is not as cuddly and inclusive a creed as Mr Salmond would have you believe. By British standards, the VVB is a far-Right organisation. “They are closely associated with the [neo-Fascist party] Vlaams Belang,” says Kris Deschouwer, professor of politics at the Free University of Brussels and author of the standard English-language work on Belgian politics. “They are ultra-nationalists and the SNP should watch who they mix with.”
Last month, near the Belgian town of Ypres, was held the annual Ijzerwake, or Yser Vigil, named after the river of that name and a key date in the ultra-nationalist calendar. The vigil has long been a favourite with members of the Flemish far Right. The president of the VVB’s general assembly, Wim de Wit, is also chairman of the Yser Vigil. The vigil’s theme this year was “Yes, Flanders, Scotland, Catalonia.”
In his vigil speech, Mr de Wit, who describes himself as “the proud father of eight Flemish children”, attacked the “Islamisation of our Flemish cities” as an “extreme act of aggression… importing an alien religion and ideology to reduce the Flemish to second-class citizens”.
He said: “For us, independence fighters, no sharia, no culture of tolerance against Islamisation, no mosques as bridgeheads implanted to colonise us. We must make nothing less than a re-conquest of Europe by Europeans.”
Mr de Wit called for a formal alliance with the neo-fascist Vlaams Belang – and to praise the existing alliance he already had with the Scottish independence movement.
The Flemish Menace is on the march on the orders of Ron Paul and his 2nd in Command Glenn Greenwald. Soon one day, the feared Yellow banner and Black lion will be spotted in Culver City! What will Charles Johnson do to avoid their feared snipers and their new Scottish allies playing bagpipes?
