Gus 802 Pining for the Fjords?

It’s starting to appear that even Gus has had enough of the totalitarianism of the BVoAF:

By way of background, this is in reference to this rather Stasi exchange earlier in the thread:

Lanzman’s toast (you’re welcome to join the stalkers, Lanzman), and Gus is axing for it.

End game at the swamp.

    re: #98 Lanzman

Car insurance is a STATE, not FEDERAL, requirement where it’s mandatory, and is within the state’s purview as licensing authority for operating motor vehicles. Driving a car is not a constitutionally-protected right.
Forcing a person to purchase a commercial product that they might not want is well beyond the scope of the federal government’s powers, no matter how you warp the commerce clause. It is yet another example of grotesque federal overreach into an area where they have no constitutional grounds for interfering.

OK. Now, what should we do with the uninsured person who’s just been hit by a car?
    ____________

Leave them on the side of the road, of course. Just like we’ve been doing.

Seriously, the insurance of the car covers medical bills in such a case. And if the driver doesn’t have insurance, they are held responsible and also prosceuted for driving sans insurance.

It’s amazing that this sort of thing needs to be explained to them.

Man. In one ear and right out the other… 🙄

      • Crashnburn01 says:

No kidding! San Fran Zionist never reads past the first line or so of the offending comment and therefore offers an ill-formed opinion of the “issue” every time. Another one of the “almost an ice weasel” club, but just not quite there yet.

        Keep trying, little camper!

    • Arachne says:

People who have been hit by a car on the public roadways are immediately transported to a medical center, and you, SFZ, you silly, ignorant bitch know full well that this is the case. And Food Lion is right – it’s called BODILY INJURY coverage you dumbass – which pays the bills, and you’re allowed to sue for any shortfall in the coverage vis-a-vis your actual medical expenses and pain and suffering, etc.

Of course, most of the hit and runs in California are fucking illegals who can’t read the signs, don’t know the driving rules, don’t have a license and don’t have insurance. But by all means let’s not OFFEND them.

Can’t even say anything in opposition without being hit by the ankle biters.

What a place. This is like the left wing version of the Class of 2004.

  3. Heh….I had a feeling they wouldn’t be reacting too well to that Federal judge’s ruling today.

Funny- they liked judicial activism just fine when that one Federal judge struck down a good chunk of Arizona’s SB 1070

    • Iron Fist says:

That’s different. That’s Progressive. Not the ditzy brunette Progressive, the other Progressive. The kind that LGF just loves today, which was the kind that GF just hated three years ago.

If Chunky was honest, (* waiting for the laughter to die down*)
He would go ahead and just put up some questions on his registration page and save a lot of time and effort.

1: Do you believe in AGW? (1)
2: Do you believe in God (please don’t confuse God with Allah)? (1)
3: Do you approve of the “Public Option”? (1)
4: Have you ever commented on another Blog? (1)
5: Will you up ding all my posts and comments? (1)
    6: Are you a Scientist? (2), (3)
7: Don’t you think the state flag of Tenseness looks like Nazi stuff ? (1)

(1): Answering yes or no to this question may or may not disqualify you from being granted an account on the MY blog. (Just kidding, my numbers are so far in the toilet that I’ll take ANY body. Socks too.)

(2): If you answered no; too bad. We have an urgent need for one.

(3): Do you think you could sound like a Scientist? (Trust me you don’t have to be very good.)

Well at least he’s honest about requiring real (not ‘throwaway) email addresses and real (not proxied) IP addresses for registration.

And he requires that information about you because … ?

  5. Arachne says:

I love that “car insurance analogy.” Guess what you dorks. Car insurance is purchased for the harm that YOU MIGHT DO TO SOMEONE ELSE. It is mandatory for you to purchase liability/property damage minimums. If you want to cover yourself, you have to purchase collision and comprehensive, and uninsured motorist to protect yourself from asshats like those that live at LGF and drive around either uninsured or underinsured.

You are NOT required by law to carry insurance if you do not own or operate a motor vehicle. It is not a requirement in order to have a driver’s license.

The Commerce Clause of the Constitution cannot mandate that a citizen purchase any product period. The Judge in Virginia got it right.

    • DEZ says:

They don’t want to purchase insurance, they want it handed to them, and they demand I pay for it.
Lizards/libtards should now be called sloths.

      • arachne4 says:

Yeah, the ones who say “do you support the public option” are really saying “do you support paying for my health care so I can be an artist/musician/photographer/bum, etc. and get freebies from the government.

Look at the taxing of so-called “Cadillac” plans – why in the world should be punish an employer or whoever for providing better than average coverage? I’ll tell you why – because the ultimate goal was single payer, and no one was going to want government coverage if better coverage was available with insurance companies, and the government was never going to offer a “cadillac plan.”

    • My Little Ponytail says:

      Don’t confuse them with facts.

  6. nil stooge says:

Re the current The Door Is Open LGF post – the door’s been open 24/7 for the last several months. Does this mean the door will be swinging shut?

Does it have anything to do with the fact that 4.7 million comments have been scrubbed for 48 hours now in the latest, longest off period of the disappearing/reappearing comments shtick?

Is he finally done boiling that frog?

    • garycooper says:

I suspect he’s just making it clear “the door is open,” in a vain attempt to try and corral some semi-curious passers-by into signing up. But nobody cares. It’s so over.

    • DEZ says:

He is hooping Barret Brownose three readers will sign up.

    • nil stooge says:

Ironic he’s hoping to gather real emails and IPs from un-suspecting noob registrants right in the middle of a bunch of threads about un-safe browsing (the Gawker fiasco).

But then again irony-deficiency-amnesia is sine qua non to be a loozard these days.

Why the hell would anyone want to become a regular commentator over then if they know there’s a good chance any or all of their comments could get scrubbed on a whim?

Consider – 20,000+ nics, maybe 8,000 banned, maybe 200 currently active. That’s 10,000+ nics, many no doubt with trivially crackable passwords, just sitting there.

He’s got a huge hole alright.
